"FUNtains" are FUN interactive fountains
that combine form, function, and frolic
at the nexus of art, science, and technology.
Our funtains are musical instruments. They are played like a flute by blocking various holes along the length of the sculpture, but instead of blocking air as with a flute, the sculpture is played by blocking water jets. This new musical creation which we call a ``hydraulophone'' has many jets of water with each jet corresponding to a note on the musical scale. |
